Today is the Last Day to Vote for Mayor and Council

Hello everyone,

If you're intending to vote for the next Mayor and City Council in New Westminster, the final day to vote is today Saturday October 17th.

While the province regulates many of the rights and responsibilities of landlords and tenants through the Residential Tenancy Act, our city has significant control over the conditions in which we live. This includes by-laws around maintenance, your right to compensation during demolition, and what temperatures must be maintained in a safe apartment.

To vote, you must...

  • Be a Canadian citizen
  • Have lived in BC for at least 6 months immediately before the day of registration

  • Not be disqualified by law from voting
