May Public Meeting - Survey, Building Organizing, Election Work, and More

Hi Everyone,

This month we are once again running a public meeting where we can collectively work on projects and campaigns. If you are interested in working on our voter education and election turnout campaign, or if you have an issue in your building you want to start organizing around, join us on Tuesday.

The first half of the meeting will be dedicated to discussing NTWU business, and the second half will be breaking off into working groups. If you and your neighbours want to come and start working on a project, our core volunteers can provide consultation.

Our May Public Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 26th, 2026, from 6:30pm to 7:45pm. The meeting is being held in the basement auditorium at the New Westminster Public Library (716 6th Avenue, New Westminster).

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

  1. Community Agreement
  2. State of the Union Updates:
    1. Building Organizing Updates
    2. Election Organizing Updates
  3. Working Groups:
    1. Voter Report Card Research and Voter Mobilization working group meetings
    2. Consultation Table for Building Issues

Survey

We are currently collecting feedback from renters in New West regarding their thoughts and priorities on tenancy issues/rights at a municipal city level. This feedback will help inform our municipal election project.

To fill out the survey click here.

The survey is anonymous and should take about 2-5 minutes to complete. If you have any questions about the survey feel free to email us.

Get Involved

Can't make the meeting? Want to join our volunteer, renter-led action team to fight for affordable, safe and stable housing for our community? We want to meet with you! Send us an email at nwtenantsunion@gmail.com or leave a voicemail at 778-358-2680.

We are always on the lookout for Building Contacts who can support the New West Tenants Union's work by keeping us posted of issues at rental buildings around the city.
